Grace E. Martin

Grace E. Martin, 89, of Reading, died September 22, 2011 in Berkshire Commons.

Born in Freetown, Sierra Leone, West Africa, she was a daughter of the late Dr. William N. and Grace E. (Snyder) Martin.

She was a graduate of Wyomissing High School, attended Duke University, and then graduated from Abington Memorial Hospital.

Grace worked in the nursing field, private and general duty, for over 42 years, retiring in 1983.

She was a Cadet Nurse for the Army, serving in WWII.

Grace is survived by her nephew, John, husband of Jane Martin, Lodi, CA and her niece Diane, wife of Bill Logan, Red Bluff, CA. Also surviving is her sister-in-law Phyllis Martin, West Reading.

She was predeceased by her three brothers: J. Paul Martin, Joseph H. Martin and William N. Martin, Jr.
