Grace A. Morgan

Grace A. (Ziegler) Morgan, 90, formerly of Muhlenberg Township died January 3, 2009 at 4:36; a.m. in Berks Heim, Bern Township, surrounded by members of her loving family.

She was predeceased by first her husband Lester H. Hershey who died December 11, 1942 and her second husband Francis V. Morgan who died March 28, 1981.

Grace was a daughter of the late Charles Hoffman and Susan Mae (Edris) Ziegler.

She was a graduate of Newmanstown High School and Reading-Muhlenberg Vo-Tech L.P.N. program, where she became a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Grace was employed as a nurse by the West Reading Convalescent Center, for 15 years, retiring in 1980. She also served as a private duty nurse.

Survivors include nine children: Carol E. (Hershey) Gattone of Muhlenberg Township, Judith A.(Hershey) Hunter-Cotten of Mohnton, John C. Morgan of Fleetwood, James M. Morgan of Temple, Donald F. Morgan Kansas City, MO, Ilse M. (Morgan) Heine of Palmyra, William E. Morgan of Kenhorst, Cordelia S. (Morgan) Kemmerer of Shoemakersville and Mary E. (Morgan) Quinter of Muhlenberg Township.

In addition there is a sister, Rachel (Ziegler) Hampsey of Bethlehem. There are also eighteen grandchildren ten great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson surviving.

She was predeceased by seven sisters and one brother.

Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
