Goldie M. Shirk

Goldie M. (Holt) Shirk, 79, died May 13, 2011 in her Laureldale Borough residence.

She was the wife of Ronald Shirk whom she married September 17, 1960.

Born April 27, 1932 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Charles Alvin and Margaret (Gehret) Holt.

Goldie was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale.

She enjoyed spending time with family.

Also surviving are three children: Jeffrey W., husband of Rhea M. Shirk of Mohrsville; Allison B., wife of Donald Sabo of Council Bluffs, IA and Angela C., wife of Brooks Dorin of Nashville, TN.

In addition, there are five grandchildren surviving: Chris, Dustin, Kyle, Kayleigh and Valleri.

Other survivors include ten siblings: Blair Holt of Florida; Richard Holt of Seattle, WA; Raymond Holt of Salisberry, MD; David Holt of Houston, TX; Jerry Holt of Columbia, KY; James Holt of Reading; Thomas Holt of Robesonia; Robert Holt of Robesonia; Janice Muñoz of Laureldale and Lois Nuñez of Exeter.

There are also many nieces and nephews surviving.

Goldie was predeceased by two sons, Bradley S. and Ronald L. Shirk and two brothers, Dennis and Bruce Holt.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. There will be no public viewing. Burial will be in Spies Zion Cemetery, Alsace Township.
