Gloria Jean Tobias

Gloria Jean Tobias, 80, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away on April 20, 2025 at Reading Hospital. Born in Mohnton, she was the daughter of Melvin Sterling Hatt and Mildred Emmaline (Schutter) Hatt Gambler and the beloved stepdaughter to Richard Gambler. Gloria was the wife of Harry R. Tobias, with whom she shared 59 years of marriage.

Gloria graduated from Muhlenberg High School in 1962 and pursued her higher education at Pennsylvania State University. She devoted three decades of her professional life to Bell Telephone, now known as Verizon, before retiring in 1999. Additionally, she served as a district manager for Rubbermaid and worked as a party planner from 1972 to 1981.

Gloria was a social butterfly and thrived on connecting with others. She found joy in shopping, particularly for groceries, and had an appreciation for good music and dancing. As a mother and grandmother, she radiated beauty both inside and out, embracing the role of a grandmother to many in her community. She always put her family first and loved them dearly.

In addition to her spouse, Gloria is survived by her daughter, Jessica Lynn Reiniger (Matthew), of Blandon, and her son, Bret Alan Tobias (Collette Hain), of Pottstown. She will be missed by her grandchildren: Hannah G. Reiniger, Nathaniel R. Hain-Tobias, and Henry A. Hain-Tobias, as well as her sister, Donna L. Wenz (Terry).

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 11:30AM at Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Family and friends will be received from 10-11:30AM.
