Gloria C. Shiels

Gloria C. Shiels, 80, of Cumru Township, passed away May 29, 2017 in Reading Hospital.

She was the devoted wife of E. George Shiels, with whom she celebrated 58 years of marriage.

Born in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Catherine (DeMarco) Clare.

Gloria was a 1955 graduate of Central High School, Newark, NJ.

She was a member of St. John Baptist de LaSalle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington.

Gloria was employed by Columbia Filters Inc., as an executive secretary for 25 years until retiring in 1998.

She was a beloved mother and grandmother.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Maureen A., wife of Dominic W. Parisi, Mohnton; and Mark G., husband of Kathryn P. Shiels, London England. She is also survived by one brother, Roy, husband of Elaine Clare, Egg Harbor; and four grandchildren, Brittany, wife of Meet Doshi, NY, NY; Tyler Parisi, Philadelphia; Jameson Parisi, Mohnton; and Aidan Parisi, Mohnton.

Gloria was predeceased by her son, Kevin Shiels.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 2, 2017 at 11 a.m. in St. John Baptist de LaSalle R.C. Church, 420 Holland St, Shillington, PA. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to John Paul II Center, 1092 Welsh Rd, Shillington, PA 19607. Edward J.
