Gloria J. Matuszak

Gloria J. (Wagner) Matuszak, 99, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Berks Heim. She was the loving wife of Chester J. Matuszak, whom she married in 1945. They shared 67 years of marriage before his passing in 2013.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late George and Irene (Knoll) Wagner and member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. Gloria devoted her life to her family. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She would make noodly doodly soup and jello desserts for her grandchildren when they came to visit. To this day, they talk about the soup but nobody can make it as good as she did.

Left to cherish Gloria's memory are sons: Robert Matuszak of Kenhorst, Joseph Matuszak of Fleetwood, Paul Matuszak (Cathy) of Leesport, and James Matuszak (Shelley) of Mt. Penn; daughters, Jane Frisoli (Brian) of West Lawn and Barbara Pullano (Tony) of Leesport; grandchildren: Michael Matuszak, Teresa Yost, Terry C. Ortiz, Jr., Andrew Matuszak (Krista), Kayla Matuszak, Kyle Matuszak (Lea), Brittany Matuszak, and Jessica Walters (Sean); great grandchildren: Emily, Kellen, Elliana, Austin, Alex, Jordan, Stanley, and Noelle; and sister, Irene Bennethum.

In addition to her husband, Gloria was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard and Jess Wagner, and sisters, Barbara Seyfert and Dolores Harding.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the Chapel of Resurrection in Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Road, Reading. A viewing will be held at from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm on the morning of the Mass at Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, 5153 Kutztown Road, Reading.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 250 South 12th St., Reading, PA 19602.
