Gloria Mae Kowalski

Gloria Mae "Bubbles" (Wike) Kowalski, 94, passed away on December 14, 2021, at Reading Hospital. She was the wife of the late Theodore J. Kowalski Sr. They shared many wonderful years together.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Harry J. and Adelaide (Harbach) Wike. Gloria graduated Reading High School in 1945. She was employed at Sears Department Store as an Audit Clerk.

Gloria was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church, where she was active in the Women's Circle. She was also a member of the West Lawn Senior Club and enjoyed 30 years of volunteer work at Reading Hospital; she enjoyed knitting, especially prayer shawls. Her love of helping others earned Gloria the Reading Eagle's Persons of the Week Award in 1995.

She is survived by her children: Theodore J. Kowalski Jr. (Cynthia), Palm Harbor, FL; Kathleen M. Riegel (Rod), Wyomissing; and David E. Kowalski (Laura), Collegeville, PA, and daughter-in-law, Teresa (Kowalski) Heckler, Shillington, PA. Six grandchildren: Bryan, Nissa, Tricia, Brandon, Ryan, and Kate and six great grandchildren also survive her.

Gloria was predeceased by her son, Jeffrey D. Kowalski, and her sister, Wynne Connors.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading, with burial to follow at Charles Evans Cemetery.
