Gloria C. Hartzell

Gloria C. (Spengler) Hartzell, 83 of Centre Township died in St. Joseph's Hospital on October 2, 2014. She was born on December 2, 1930 in Bethlehem, PA and was the daughter of the late Howard M. and Florence E. (Huber) Spengler. Her husband Robert K. Hartzell died April 13, 2002. Gloria was a 1948 graduate of Northampton High School and a 1952 graduate of Millersville State Teachers College. She was a kindergarten teacher, author, genealogists, day care provider and a beloved mother and homemaker. Gloria was a member of St. Michael's Church, Tilden Township. She was also a member of D.A.R., Manatawny Chapter. Her survivors include sons, Todd R. husband of Michele Hartzell, and Kip D. husband of Jessica Hartzell both of Raleigh, NC. R. Scott husband of Carol Hartzell, Hamburg and a daughter, Pam L. Hartzell, Oxford, PA., four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and one brother, Dallas E. husband of Evelyn Spengler, Bath, PA. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM from St. Peter's U.C.C., 8142 Valley View Road, Northampton, PA 18067. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the church.
