Gloria A. Hamm

Gloria A. Hamm lost her courageous 17-year battle with cancer on Saturday, June 13th, 2015. She lost the battle, but won the war as she is now with the Lord and her parents, Gladys P. (Minnich) Bachert Turner and George O. Bachert. She is also joining her stepfather, Norman "Tex" Turner and half brother George I. Bachert in heaven. She is loved and missed by her husband of 53 years, Robert (Bobby) Hamm and their three children, Lori Correll, Tammy wife of James Miller and Michael husband of Peggy Hamm. Additionally two sisters survive her, Geraldine wife of Larry Henne, and Cindy Gardner, four grandchildren, Brooke Hess, Ashley Rothermel, Shane Correll and Michael McCann III and eight great-grandchildren and ten nieces and nephews. Gloria graduated from Hamburg Area High School in 1961. She worked in the office at the Hamburg Senior High School for 30 years and was known as the voice behind the inter-com. She also worked at the Cracker Barrel, Tilden Township for 10 years. She loved the Lord, her church, family, ladies group, traveling with the Grube Travelers, singing, cross stitch, knitting, bingo, the Hollywood Casino and dining out. She was a member of Immanuel E.C. Church, Drehersville for nearly 30 years and the Hamburg Historical Society where she served as secretary. A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM from the Immanuel E.C. Church, Drehersville, PA. A visitation with the family will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. It was Gloria's request that no viewing be held. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to Immanuel E.C. Church, 1013 Chestnut St., Orwigsburg, PA. 17961.
