Glenn Arthur Bromwell, 71, went home to be with his Savior on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Born on March 20, 1953, in Fort Meade, Maryland, he was the beloved son of Mary Pearl Merson Bromwell and the late Arthur Ronald Bromwell.
Glenn came to know Christ as his personal Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 26, 1968. A 1971 graduate of Westminster High School, he went on to study at Appalachian Bible Institute, where he met the love of his life, Sheryl Lynn Bromwell. The two were married in October of 1973 and built a beautiful life together, rooted in faith, love, and service. Glenn completed his undergraduate degree at Maryland Baptist Bible College and began a lifetime of ministry that touched countless lives.
Glenn served faithfully at New Freedom Christian School in New Freedom, Pennsylvania; Maranatha Baptist Church Academy in Elkton, Maryland; and Crossroads Bible Church/Elkton Christian School in Elkton, Maryland, before retiring in 2018. Even in retirement, his passion for helping others never waned. His core focus remained leading others to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Glenn devoted the last several years to ministering through The Paris Foundation, where he focused on outreach at the Cecil County Detention Center and the Cecil Pregnancy and Family Resource Center, continuing his lifelong commitment to serving others with compassion and grace.
For over 50 years, Glenn dedicated his life to full-time Christian service. Known for his kindness, compassion, and unwavering faith, he touched countless lives. His legacy of service and devotion to God will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Glenn is survived by his mother, Mary Bromwell; his two sons, Paul Bromwell (and his wife, Beth) and Daniel Bromwell; and three beloved grandchildren, Lexi, Gavin, and Benjamin. He is also survived by his sisters, Deborah Harbaugh (and her husband, David) and Gail Repass (and her husband, Preston); sisters-in-law, Connie Kurtz and Pam Bromwell; and brother-in-law, Ronald Shaffer (and his wife, Bonnie). He was preceded in death by his wife, Sheryl; his brother, Greg Bromwell; his sister-in-law, Teresa Kasiewicz; and his father- and mother-in-law, Ralph and Betty Shaffer.
A celebration of Glenn's life will take place on Friday, December 13, 2024, at Victory Baptist Church, 1059 Victory Circle, Reading, PA 19605, where he was a devoted member. The viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 12:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests charitable donations be made to The Paris Foundation, P.O. Box 812, Elkton, MD 21922. Please include the note "In memory of Glenn Bromwell" with any donation.
