Glen S. Levan

Glen S. Levan, age 79, made his departure to join the Lord’s heavenly choir on March 22, 2026. Born on December 22, 1946 in Reading, PA to his parents, the late Stanley W. Levan and survived by Margret E. Levan.

Raised in Hamburg, he was a graduate of Hamburg Area High School’s class of 1964. He journeyed away from home to further cultivate his intellect at Goldey-Beacom College.


Glen answered freedom’s call and served with quiet honor in the Vietnam War. Upon his return from the war he wed his bride, Merribeth Levan, who shared 57 years together before his passing.

He was a proud and very active member of, St. John’s Lutheran Church, singing in their choir for countless years. As a man whose heart overflowed with song, he also lent his voice to the Blue Mountain Heritage Chorus. Glen was also an active member of the Hamburg Lions Club. Together, he and Merribeth, cherished their annual fishing trip to Poplars Resort in Canada among some of their closest friends.

In addition to his mother and wife, Glen is also survived by his two sons Steven Levan, husband of Gretchen, and Tim Levan, husband of Jessica. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his 4 grandchildren, Shelby Levan, Bradley Levan serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, Carly Levan, and Tanner Levan. Glen also leaves behind his great-grandson, Atlas Levan Caban, and one more great-grandson expected to join the family this year.

In lieu of flowers, Glen has requested donations be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church at 99 Church St. Hamburg, PA. Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
