Giovanni Rampulla

Giovanni Rampulla, 80, of Sinking Spring, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 24, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Santo Stefano di Camastra, Sicily, Italy, to the late Calogero and Teresa (Gariti) Rampulla, Giovanni married the love of his life, Elaine (Hartman), on October 4, 1981.

Giovanni immigrated to the United States in 1967 and proudly became a US Citizen.

In addition to his wife, Giovanni is survived by their children, daughter Teresa (Rampulla), wife of Adam P. Krick of Sinking Spring, and son Antonino of Mount Penn. He adored his grandchildren, Liliana and Harrison Krick. Giovanni is also survived by his brother, Giuseppe, and his wife, Concettina, of Milan, Italy, his sister, Maria (Rampulla), wife of Salvatore Sottosanti, Sr. of Reinholds, his sister, Ninfa (Rampulla), wife of Franco Giuffre of Mohnton, and his sister-in-law, Isabella (Gariti) of Santo Stefano di Camastra, Sicily, Italy. His extended family includes numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Giovanni was predeceased by his brother, Antonino, his brother, Santo, husband of Tomasina (Scarpino), his brother, Salvatore, and his sister, Ninfa, who passed away as a child.

He had a strong Catholic faith and was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle, RCC, of Shillington.

Prior to immigrating, Giovanni learned to cut and style hair from his brother, Nino, and later brought that trade to America where he earned and maintained his hairdressing license. He won numerous awards throughout his career and was especially proud of the last location of "Giovanni's Master Hair Design" – a commercial building he owned with his wife in the heart of Reading.

An entrepreneur at heart, Giovanni also supported his family and extended family through various business endeavors including auto and jewelry sales as well as a commercial and residential landlord.

Giovanni will be remembered for his generous love of family, gregarious personality, endless energy while playing with his grandchildren, and love of his grand-fur babies – especially Milhouse, the English bulldog.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Giovanni's memory may be made to St. John Baptist de la Salle, RCC, Shillington.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Baptist de la Salle, RCC, 42 Kerrick Rd, Shillington, PA 19607, with entombment to follow at Gethsemane Mausoleum, 3139 Kutztown Rd, Reading, PA 19605. Friends and family are welcome to gather Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. for viewing at the Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Ave, West Reading, PA, 19611.
