Gilbert R. Feeg

Gilbert R. Feeg, 87, formerly of West Reading, died January 26, 2011, in Manor Care, West Reading.

Born in West Reading, she was the son of the late William J. and Margaret B. (Killian) Feeg.

He graduated from West Reading High School in 1941; Albright College in 1948 with a B.S. in Chemistry; and Clarkson College of Technology now Clarkson University in 1970 with a M.S. in Science Education.

Mr. Feeg was employed as a teacher for Womelsdorf High School for four years from 1949-1953 and Hamburg High School for 28 years from 1960-1988, retiring in 1988. He continued to substitute for Hamburg High School after his retirement.

He was a member of Bausman Memorial United Church of Christ, Wyomissing, where he was a former Sunday school Superintendent and teacher. He was also an elder and youth group advisor. He was a member of the choir since 1939.

Mr. Feeg was a US Army Air Force veteran serving during WWII.

He is survived by his brother, Roger K., husband of Muriel Feeg, Birdsboro; his nephew, Rodd C. Feeg and his niece, Jolynn Everett.

Services will be Monday at noon in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading, PA 19611. Burial will be in St. John's Host Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 11 a.m. to noon at the funeral home.
