Gerhard A. Weis, 93, of Exeter, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, in the care of Reading Hospital. He was the loving husband of Ingrid M. (Kiefer) for over 73 years.
Born in Karlsruhe, Germany, to the late August H. Weis and Frieda (Konig), Gerhard immigrated to Canada in 1952 and married Ingrid in 1953.
They later relocated to the United States and settled in Grand Island, NY, near Buffalo, where he worked with Paramount Pattern Works as a pattern maker. After several years, he went into business with several trusted partners and established Supreme Pattern Works, where he worked until his family relocated to Tampa, FL, and, later, settled in the Reading Area. His last significant employment was with Tray-Pak of Tuckerton as a foreman until his retirement in 2002.
Having joined in 1979, Gerhard was a long-time member of Shillington Church of Christ. Kind and caring, he performed outreach within his church community to the sick and the elderly.
He was an incredible storyteller, especially when he shared his experiences growing up in Germany.
He also enjoyed golfing, fishing, wood crafting, and piecing together jigsaw puzzles. He had a meticulous eye for detail.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Ingrid; their children: Ralph G. Weis, husband of Kathleen and widower of Evelyn Weis, of New Bern, NC; Nancy I. Weis of Exeter; and Michael R. Weis, husband of Lynn, of Exeter; grandchildren: Suzanne Weis; Christopher Weis and wife Jenna; Alexandra Weis; Kiefer Weis; and Benjamin Weis; and great grandchildren: Brandon Weis and wife Allie; Cameryn Weis; Jane Weis; Samuel Weis; Finn Weis; Asher Weis; Everly Weis; and Olive Weis. Gerhard is also survived by his siblings, Emmy Muller, Günther "Freddie" Weis, and Sieglinde Weis.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his grandson, Adam Weis, and his sisters, Adelheit Knobloch, Hanalore Bechtold, and Gerda Cooper.
