Geraldine Beatrice Preston

Geraldine B. Preston, 81, of Wyomissing, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, in the care of Lancaster General Hospital. She was the loving widow of Samuel E. Preston, Sr.

She was born in Philadelphia to the late Lemuel B. and Hermyonne L. (Gramling) Lester. Geraldine was a trained opera singer and loved to share the gift of her voice.

A godly woman, she was a member of Reamstown Church of God.

Geraldine was a dedicated, loving mother. Following her husband's military career, the family relocated several times, settling internationally and domestically on multiple occasions. They resided in California, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia among other locations. She worked as a clerk in medical records, retiring shortly after her husband's passing.

Holding a deep love for others, Geraldine genuinely saw the good in every person she met. She loved life and treasured her time with friends and family. Knowing she is at peace gives her family great comfort.

Left to treasure Geraldine's memory are her children: Marlene Preston of Fayetville, NC; Samuel Preston II of Lancaster; Penda Preston of Wyomissing, with whom Geraldine resided; and Ebony Preston-Woods, wife of Daniel Woods, of Aurora, CO; her grandchildren: Kamihla McBurney, wife of Justin; Daniel Preston, husband of Darlene; Aaron Preston, husband of Sarah; Samuel Preston III, companion of Karla Gonzalez-Burgos; Angela Preston, wife of Chris; and Tony Preston, husband of Suzy; and great-grandchildren: Christian Preston, Demetrius Preston, Emerson Preston, Paisley Martin, Jordanairre Preston, and one more expected. Geraldine is also survived by her sister, Teresa Lester, and brother, Lawrence Lester, husband of Jackie.

In addition to her husband, Sameul, and parents, Lemuel and Hermyonne, Geraldine was predeceased by her children: an infant son, Nikoema Preston, and Dameon Preston; and her granddaughter, Rajneesha Preston.

Funeral Services for Geraldine will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026 , at 10:00 am, at Reamstown Church of God, 400 Pfautz Hill Rd, Stevens, PA 17578.
