Geraldine M. Graeff

Geraldine M. Graeff, 87, of Wernersville, died August 27, 2011 in Phoebe Berks.

She was the wife of Carl L. Graeff.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late James P. and Caroline (Cook) Cody.

She was a 1942 graduate of Central Catholic High School, where she was their first May Queen.

Geraldine loved music and was a member of Sweet Adelines. She also enjoyed quilting and made quilts for all of her children and several of her grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola R.C. Church, Whitfield.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her 8 children: Christine A., wife of Vincent Cotter, Lansdale; Richard M. Graeff, Hong Kong; Victoria L., wife of Michael Rys, Robesonia; Joseph E., husband of Karen Graeff, Lancaster; James A., husband of Jane Graeff, Saratoga Springs, NY; Robert L., husband of Sherri Graeff, Oley; Barbara L., wife of James Ingram, Cotuit, MA and Thomas A. Graeff, Temple. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Geraldine was predeceased by her 7 siblings: Maria, Gertrude, James, Carolyn, Betty, Rita and Angeline.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Ignatius Loyola R.C. Church, Whitfield. A visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. in the church. Burial will be in St. Daniel's Cemetery, Heidelberg Township. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mary's Shelter: 736 Upland Ave., Reading, PA 19607.
