Geraldine D. O'Neil

Geraldine D. (Gerbino) O'Neil, 88, of Spring Township, died April 8, 2017, in the Reading Hospital.

Her husband, Arthur E. O'Neil, died September 4, 2009.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late John and Theresa M. (Casella) Gerbino.

She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in 1946 and Reading Hospital School of Nursing.

Geraldine was employed by Dr. Carabello and Dr. Clymer, Reading throughout her nursing career.

She was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield.

Geraldine was class vice-president of Central Catholic High School from 1945-1946.

She is survived by her daughter, Claudia, wife of Barry L. Walters, Sinking Spring; one sister, MaryJane, wife of Donald Moyer, Reading; one grand-daughter, Jessica, wife of Brian Werntz, Ephrata; two step-granddaughters, Sherri Alvarez, Jennifer Hornberger; five step-great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Vida Gerbino, Reading and JoAnn O'Neil, Tarpon Springs, FL.

Geraldine was predeceased by three siblings, Richard Gerbino, Anthony, Gerbino and Amelia Gerbino.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will be private in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
