Gerald J. Raab

Gerald Raab, 83, of Mohnton, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024, in the care of the Reading Hospital. He was the loving husband of Anita E. (Eifert) Raab, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage.

Born in Reading to the late Leonard and Dorothea (Fordyce) Raab, Gerald graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1959 before serving in the U.S. Navy. Following his honorable discharge he attended Penn State and began his 39 year career at Dana Corp. from where he retired .

Gerald's work with Dana granted him opportunities to travel for business, including memorable journeys to Japan. With the company of his wife Anita, he enjoyed traveling for pleasure. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play their various sports. He enjoyed golf, and he loved following Philadelphia sports.

Left to treasure Gerald's memory is his wife, Anita; their children, Christopher Raab and wife Denise Zatratz of Mohnton; Nicole Yoder-Tarrach and husband Timothy Tarrach of Shillington; and Peter Raab of Mohnton; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Chase, Saige, Christopher, and Michael; step grandchildren, Ashlie, Amanda, Timothy, Alexa, Ian, and Marina; step great grandchildren, Kieran and Lyla; and brothers, Leonard and Richard Raab. He was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Raab.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, with Military Honors and Words of Remembrance being delivered at 11:30 a.m. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
