Gerald J. "Poppy" Adam, 91, formerly of Reading, passed away September 23, 2021, at the Mifflin Center.
His wife, Jean A. (Eppihimer) Adam, died in 2006. They were married for 54 years.
Born in Reading, PA, he was a son of the late Adam and Gertrude (Greiss) Adam.
He was a 1948 graduate of Reading High School.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Jerry was employed as an electrician by local 743 till 1976 than later by the Reading School District from 1976 to 1995 as an electrician.
Poppy will be remembered for his love of traveling and being an avid reader. He enjoyed his Keystone light beer and he always offered a "cold one" to everyone he met. Most of all, he will be remembered for the love he had for his family and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his son, Jeff, husband of Marianne Adam; two grandchildren, Tyler, husband of Brianne Adam and Alexa Vega; one great-granddaughter, Juliette Adam; his companion, Joan Hoffman and a brother, Ralph Adam.
Jerry was predeceased by his daughter, Allison Vega and four siblings: Ruth, Dorothy, Fred and Richard.
