Gerald W. Budzik, 80, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Reading Hospital and Medical Center. He was the loving husband of Doris Maurer, with whom he shared 23 years of marriage.
Gerald was born December 13, 1943 in Shadyside, Ohio to the late Michael and Leona (Schultz) Budzik. After his military service, he went on to work for the Department of Defense as a contract administrator – a career which took him to live in Canada before settling in Pennsylvania.
He was an active member of Saint Alban's Episcopal Church and enjoyed serving his community through volunteer work. He loved fishing, especially the trips to Canada with his brothers. A sports fan, Gerry loved rooting on the Phillies with his son and cheering for Ohio State and Penn State. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Doris; daughter, Mary Elizabeth (Budzik) DiMartino of MA; son-in-law, Thomas and grandsons, Mender and Xavier. He is also survived by his brothers Thom Budzik (Joanne) and Mike Budzik (Melodie) as well as nieces and nephews. Gerald was preceded in death by his son, Jeremiah John Budzik.
