Gerald K. Bricker

Gerald K. Bricker, 72, died August 3, 2010 in his Reading residence, surrounded by his loving family.

He was the husband of Carol (Miraszewski) Bricker, whom he married August 22, 1959.

Born in Reading, he was a son of Margaret (McKinney) Bricker, Hamburg and the late Theodore Bricker.

Gerry was a 1956 graduate of Reading High School and a 1960 graduate of Albright College.

He worked as a teacher for Wilson High School from 1960 to 1965. In 1965 he went to teach for Reading High School until his retirement in 1993.

Gerry was an avid sports fan and coached football in both Wilson High School and Reading High School.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his two children: Jeffrey K., husband of Toni A. Bricker, Hockessin, DE and Jenny B., wife of G. Grant Russian, Devon. Also surviving are his siblings: Ronald, husband of Judy Bricker, Reading and Lynda, wife of Dennis Bachman, Bernville. There are three grandchildren surviving, Maggie Bricker, Max Bricker and Spencer Russian.

A Memorial Service will be held September 4th at 11 a.m. in the Merner-Pfeiffer-Klein Memorial Chapel at Albright College, 13th and Union Street, Reading. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Animal Rescue League of Berks County, P.O. Box 69 Mohnton, PA 19540 or to Heartland Hospice, 4 Park Plaza, Park Rd. , Suite 105A, Wyomissing PA 19610.
