Gerald M. Bowers

Gerald M. Bowers, 82, of 79 Shore Drive, Centre Township, died April 26th at 6:15 pm in ManorCare Health Services, Spring Township, where he had been since February 20th.

He was the widower of Betty Jane (Tindle) Bowers, who died January 4, 2003.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Edmund and Anna (Martin) Bowers.

He was a Army Veteran of WWII.

Bowers worked for over 25 years at Clark Equipment, last working as a supervisor.

He later worked for a number of years at Delta Body, Ontelaunee Township until his retirement.

Bowers is survived by a daughter, Carol J. (Bowers) wife of Craig D. Weidenhammer of Sinking Spring.

Other survivors include a grandson and two great granddaughters.

Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, 4 Park Plaza, Suite 204, Wyomissing, Pa 19610 or to Humane Society 1801 North 11th Street, Reading, Pa 19604. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
