Georgiene J. Lord

Georgiene Julia (Madara) Lord, 62, of Muhlenberg Township, died July 9, 2011 in St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township.

Born in West Reading, PA on April 6, 1949, she was a daughter of the late William A. and Grace L. (Gockley) Madara.

She was a 1967 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.

Georgiene was employed 28 years as a computer analyst working for GPU, CNA and Singer Equipment, before retiring in April 2005.

She is survived by two children: Connie L. (Glaser), wife of Harold J. Kretz III of Muhlenberg Township and Jason M. Hill of Laureldale.

Other survivors include a brother, Stanton W. Madara of Muhlenberg Township and a former spouse, Raymond K. Heffner of Muhlenberg Township.

There are also three grandchildren surviving: Matthew A. Kretz, Baylee L. Kretz and Jared C. Kretz.

Memorial Services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 pm in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, with the Rev. Thomas F. Irwin, Jr., officiating. A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until time of services.
