George W Miller, of Shoemakersville, passed away and was reunited with his wife Lucille T. (Bayus) Miller on November 1, 2025. Lucille had previously passed away on May 16, 2020, and she prepared a place for George in heaven.
Born of George W D and Jennie Miller in 1936 at home, he was a graduate of Muhlenberg Township High School, Class of 1954, and a veteran of the United States Army, serving active duty from 1956-1958. He was employed at Diamond Brothers Furniture Company from 1958-1967, and while employed there met his wife Lucille. They married in May 1962 and were proud parents of two sons, Todd D Miller, retired high school Social Studies teacher in Honesdale, Pennsylvania, and Jeffrey M Miller, a practicing attorney specializing in criminal law in Watertown, Massachusetts. George changed jobs and worked for the then Polymer Corporation (now Mitsubishi Chemical) as a plastics molder from 1967 until his retirement in 1997.
He was an active member of the Holy Name of Jesus Society at Saint Mary Catholic Church in Hamburg until his physical limitations caused him to step away. He loved working outdoors, was "handy" with tools and general know-how, and loved helping neighbors and friends with various projects. He was loved by many for his kindness and generosity and will be missed. His work ethic was excellent. He always sought to get things done right, not just get things done, and taught his sons to always try to do the same.
Besides his sons, he is survived by his nieces, including Lori A. Rehrig and Debra A. Rehrig. He also has many nieces and nephews from Lucille's side of the family that survive; as well as two brothers-in-law, Stephen P. Bayus and George J. Bayus (Sherry); and a sister-in-law, Marguerite Bayus Ninetto (Anthony). In addition to his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by his brother Carl D Miller, his sister Carolyn Miller, and his sister-in-law Sharon L Miller. He also is survived by many first cousins on Jennie's side of the family. George's sons wish to thank especially Lori, Deb, and Marguerite for their steady, unwavering support, assistance, and love, especially after Lucille's passing.
