George J. Verret

George J. Verret, Jr., 92, passed away at the Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Raydel C. (Knechtle) Verret.

Born in Hyde Park, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late George J. and Anna (Ketterer) Verret. George graduated Muhlenberg High School in 1949, and then attended the Reading Business Institute for accounting. He worked as an accountant at Glidden Paint for over 40 years. He also served in the U.S. Army.

George volunteered for 30 years as a Muhlenberg Ambulance EMT. He enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and gardening. George also loved music, the Phillies and was a handyman around the house.

George is survived by his wife, Raydel, son, J. Scott Verret (Lyn) of Reading, granddaughter, Brandy Miller (Christopher), great-grandsons Mason and Dawson Miner and their father, Michael Miner.

He was predeceased by his sister, Shirley Franco, grandson, Bradley Verret, and two stepsisters, Frances Rehm and Miriam Gehrke.
