George H. Vernetti

George H. Vernetti, 91, of Reading, died October 24, 2011 in St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Ralph and Theresa (Verdone) Vernetti.

George was an assembler with the Dana Corporation for over 35 years.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in WWII as part of the 712th Tank Battalion in England and France. He was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with four bronze stars, American Theater Service Medal and the Purple Heart Medal.

He is survived by three nieces and two nephews.

George was predeceased by his ten siblings.

A viewing will be Friday 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading, followed by services at 12 p.m. Burial will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Sean M. Flannery Memorial Project, checks should be made to: Wyomissing Area Education Foundation, 630 Evans Avenue, Wyomissing, PA 19610.
