George Michael Simon

George Michael Simon, 91, died in his Laureldale Borough residence, surrounded by his loving family.

He was the husband of Dorothy Mae (Kutz) Simon whom he married February 24, 1945.

Born March 25, 1922 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Michael C. and Minnie (Harner) Simon.

George was employed as a machinist with Western Electric for 28 years, retiring in 1985.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

George was an active member of Reading North Kingdom Hall Jehova's Witness.

He enjoyed cabinet making and working in his woodshop.

Surviving in addition to his wife is his son, Keith G. Simon of Laureldale.

Also surviving is his brother, Roger Simon of Reading and his sister, Phyllis Schlegel of Muhlenberg Township.

There are also two grandsons, Skylar K. Simon and Anthony N., husband of Tara B. Simon and two great grandchildren, Liam A. Simon and Bryn E. Simon.

George was predeceased by a son, Edwin Lloyd Simon who died July 21, 1962, 2 brothers and a sister.
