George J. Rubey

George J. Rubey, 93, formerly of Old Wyomissing Road, died Nov. 25 at 10:50 p.m. in Quakertown Center, Bucks County, where he had resided since Dec. 18, 2000.

His wife, Helen A. (Arbach) Rubey, died Aug. 8, 1991.

Born in Scranton, he was a son of the late John and Anna (Yatsko) Rubey.

Rubey was employed as pharmacist by Rundle's Pharmacies Inc., Reading, retiring in 1986.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.

Rubey was a Navy veteran of World War II.

He was commander of Gregg Post 12, American Legion, Reading, in 1945.

Surviving is a sister, Susan (Rubey) Kobar, Dunmore, Lackawanna County.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum, Laureldale. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
