George A. Patterson

George Alexander Patterson, Jr., of Sinking Spring, died May 26, 2010 in ManorCare Health Services, Spring Township, where he had been a patient since February.

He was the husband of Theresa A. (DiCicco) Patterson, whom he married May 27, 1961.

Born in Hazleton, PA on May 5, 1925, he was a son of the late George A. Sr., and Lucy (Mumaw) Patterson.

He was a 1943 graduate of Hazleton High School and a 1950 graduate of Pennsylvania State University.

George was employed as a field representative for 30 years with the Department of Health, Education and Welfare, Philadelphia.

He was an Army veteran of WWII.

George is also survived by two nephews: Thomas Maurer of Collingswood, NJ and George Maurer of Sharpsburg, GA and two nieces: Luci Drinkwater of Glenmoore, PA and Christine Donnechie of Reading.

He was predeceased by a sister; Alice Maurer.

Services will be private. Burial will be in Sinking Spring Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
