George J. Miller

George John Miller, Jr., 79, died on October 23, 2007 in his Robeson Township Residence.

He was the husband of Shirley D. (Batdorf) Miller whom he married on January 29, 1949.

Born on September 10, 1928 in Stowe, PA, he was a son to the late George J. Miller, Sr. and Sara E. (Romick) Hadley.

George was employed as a painter for Boyertown Body Works for five years and Moore Body, Muhlenberg Township, for twenty years. He also was employed as a line worker for Hub Tools, Exeter Township for twenty years, retiring in 1990.

Surviving is a daughter, Linda A. (Miller), wife of Timothy J. Schrum of Corona, CA and a son George R. Miller, Mohnton.

Also surviving is a sister Eleanor (Miller) Sweitzer, Sinking Spring and a step-brother, Filbert Romich of Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

There are five grandchildren: Timothy Schrum, Justin Schrum, Matthew Miller, Kyle Miller and Mackenzie Miller.

There are two great-granddaughters, Jennifer Schrum and Alyssa Schrum.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Brandywine Hospital, 201 Reeceville Rd., Coatesville, PA 19320 and/or Caring Hospice Services, 400 Commerce Dr., Suite C, Fort Washington, PA 19034.

Services will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Chapel at Laureldale Cemetery, Rt. 61 and Tuckerton Rd., Muhlenberg Township. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services in the chapel. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
