George J. Dracoules

George J. Dracoules, 88, formerly of Spring Twp., passed away peacefully on June 21 at ManorCare Health Services, Sinking Spring.

He was the husband of the late Mildred M. (Travagli) Dracoules, who died September 22, 2009.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late James and Helen (Zoga) Dracoules, both from Greece.

George retired from Rockwell International, Wyomissing, formerly Textile Machine Works, after 43 years.

He is survived by a daughter, Michele (Sacco) wife of Terry Beilhart, Spring Twp., a son James Dracoules, Reading; and grandsons Christopher, Alex and Andrew Beilhart. He was predeceased by his sister Julia (Dracoules) Sarfert, on May 29, 2015.

George was a graduate of Reading High School and the Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute (WPI), now known as Penn State University Berks Campus. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He was active in the Wilson Band Aides, serving as vice president. He loved sports and was an avid bowler and golfer. A great story teller, George was very social. Most important to him was his family, especially enjoying his grandchildren in his retirement years.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 1001 E. Wyomissing Blvd., Reading, with burial to follow in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading and Thursday from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the church.
