George N. Haviland

George N. Haviland Jr., 79, formerly of Reading, died March 17 at 1 p.m. in St. Joseph Medical Center, where he had been a patient five days.

He was taken to the medical center from Spruce Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, West Reading.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late George N. Haviland Sr. and Catherine R. (Withers) Haviland.

Haviland was employed for several years by American Chain & Cable Co., Reading, until his retirement.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Surviving are four sisters: Dorothy K. (Haviland) Geibel, West Lawn; Mary L. (Haviland) Strunk, Reading; Millicent E. (Haviland) Ensinger, Spring Township; and Edith May (Haviland) Kreisher, Albuquerque, N. Mex.

Graveside services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
