George D. Gehring

George D. Gehring, 91, passed away August 17, 2017, in Berkshire Commons.

He was the beloved husband of Marie L. (Periandri) Gehring.

Born in Stony Creek, he was the son of the late George S. and Edna (Kline) Gehring.

George was a United States Navy veteran serving during World War II.

He was employed by Polymer Corp., Northmont as a machinist for over 32 years.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his two sons, George R., husband of Carlene, Reading; and David J., husband of Deborah, Birdsboro. He is also survived by his three siblings, Robert, Laureldale; Charles "Pete" Maine; and Betty Moyer, Blandon; two grandchildren, George and Jeff, and three great grandchildren, Carson, Emrie, and Benjamin.

He was predeceased by six siblings.

A prayer service will be held Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Resurrection at Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Rd, Reading, PA 19605, with entombment to follow. A viewing will be held Wednesday, August 23, from 6 to 8 pm in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Ave., West Reading.
