George E. Reifsnyder

George E. Reifsnyder, 91, of Reading, passed away October 12, 2016, in Berks Heim.

He was the husband of Rosemarie (Shirk) Reifsnyder. They married on May 28,1949.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Levi and Elizabeth (Eisenhart) Reifsnyder.

He attended Reading High School.

George was employed by Dana Corporation for 33 years as a welder.

He was a member of St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, Reading. He was also a member of the Reading Liederkranz.

George will be remembered for many things, taking walks after his retirement, playing cards, especially poker, bowling, golfing, traveling to Europe and sea cruises.

The family would like to thank Berks Heim for the compassionate care they provided to George.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, George A. , husband of Marcia Reifsnyder, NY; two sisters: Anna and Betty; and one granddaughter, Amanda Reifsnyder.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Nancy Reifsnyder; and four siblings: Elizabeth, Mary, Levi, and Frank.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, 925 Centre Ave, Reading, PA 19601. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the church. Mass cards would be appreciated or contributions may be made to St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church at the above address.
