George E. Ramsey

George E. Ramsey, 91, passed away August 17, 2026, in his Spring Township residence.

He was the widower of Ruth M. (Kopsell) Ramsey, who died on October 10, 2022.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Stanley and Pauline (Grief) Ramsey.

George served our nation proudly and valiantly in the US Navy.

He was employed for over 28 years at Carpenter Technologies as a machinist.

George, a dedicated patriot, always remembered his military comrades and spent many years riding with the Patriot Guard to honor his fellow service members. As a motorcycle enthusiast, he traveled extensively across the country, appreciating its natural beauty. In addition to riding, George enjoyed playing pool, golfing, bowling, and practicing at the shooting range. He was a passionate fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles and held a lifelong membership in the American Goldwing Association.

He is survived by two children. Michael C. Ramsey, partner of Shirley Apple, Exeter Township, and Kelly K., wife of Bruce Carbonara, Waco, TX; one sister, Katherine Ramsey, Exeter Township; and seven grandchildren: Tyler, Nico, Brian, Alyson, Griffin, Jodi, and Jennifer. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren: Connor, Peyton, Keller, Brycen, Madilynn, Blakely and Reese.

George was predeceased by four siblings: Jeanine Wilfert, Annabelle Ramsey, Jane Taylor, and Martin Ramsey.

A Celebration of Life Services with Military Honors will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, PA 19611. Burial will be private. Friends may call Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral Home.
