Gentry L. Lowry

Gentry L. Lowry, Jr, 77, of Wyomissing, passed away on August 13, 2024, with his loving wife, Paula, by his side.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Gentry Lowry, Sr and Dorothy (Aamon) Lowry. Gent was a graduate of Reading High School Class of 1964 and enlisted in the United States Marines Corps. He was employed at Reading Hospital as a plasterer in the Engineering Department until his retirement.

Gent was a member of Clover Park Athletic Association and the Reading Berks Basketball Association. He was a player on the Monarch's Basketball Team who were inducted into the Berks County Hall of Fame. An All Star of the West Reading Summer Basketball League, Gent holds the record for most points scored in a single game, 51.

Some of Gent's other interests include racquetball and tennis with his daughters. He was a proud father and grandfather of seven granddaughters. His spare time was spent at all of his children and granddaughters' sporting events.

Left to treasure Gent's memory is his wife, Paula (DeFazio); his daughters, Kristin Perhonitch (Ed) and Shannon Sowal; step daughter, Annmarie Cieless (Mark); and granddaughters: Adyson and Jadyn Perhonitch; Madelline, Olivia, and Sophia Sowal; and Brooke and Brianna Cieless.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Ave, West Reading PA 19611.
