Geneva Carr Yates, 90, passed away at the Reading Hospital on April 23, 2016.

She was predeceased by her husband, Samuel A. Yates who died on August 7, 1987.

Born in Bradley, AR, she was a daughter of the late John Felix and Lilly Bell (Lovelady) Carr.

She was a 1945 valedictorian graduate of Beach Grove High School.

Geneva worked for The Old Depot Restaurant, the Welfare Office; and the Department of Motor Vehicles, all in Oak Grove, LA, retiring in 2002.

She was a member of Green Baptist Church, Oak Grove, LA.

Geneva loved to quilt, sew, and cook.

Geneva, who was very dedicated to her family will be truly missed, but never forgotten, by all who knew her.

She is survived by three children: Samuel Richard Yates, husband of Annette, of Oak Grove, LA; Gary Nolan Yates, of Oak Grove, LA; and Rose Mary Marabella, wife of David C., with whom she resided in West Wyomissing, PA; her brother, Carl James Carr, husband of Carol, of San Antonio, TX. One grandson, Anthony Marabella; three step-grandchildren: Theresa, Kim, and Susie and seven step-great-grandchildren also survive her.

Geneva was predeceased by her brother, Thomas D. Carr and several half-brother and sisters.

A viewing will be Monday, April 25, 2016 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will be in The McGraw Family Cemetery, Centerville, MS. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com.
