Gene R. Wertz

Gene R. Wertz, 81 of New Ringgold died March 26, 2017 in the Orwigsburg Center, Orwigsburg. Gene was the husband of the late Nancy L. (Stutzman) Wertz who died October 21, 2001. Gene was born in Perry Township and was the son of the late Floyd S. Wertz and Margaret M. (Hepner) Moyer of Shoemakersville. Gene was an auto mechanic and worked many years for the former Balthaser Motors, Hamburg. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Fonda J. wife of Terry Reppert, Hamburg; two sons, Russell husband of Donna Wertz, Hamburg; Gene F. husband of Susan Wertz, E. Brunswick Township, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild;  and two brothers, Jack H. and James F. Wertz, both of Shoemakersville. A brother, Joseph S. Wertz, predeceased him. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. from the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc. Hamburg. A viewing will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
