Gene A. Rader

Gene Arlen Rader, 78, of Cumru Township died April 4, 2011 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

He was a husband of Fay Ruth (Kreitz) Rader, whom he married August 2, 1958.

Born in Spring Township, PA on November 16, 1932, he was a son of the late Mahlon S. and Nora M. (Angstadt) Rader.

Gene was a 1950 graduate of Wilson High School.

He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Shillington.

Gene was an Army Veteran.

He was employed 37 years with Metropolitan Edison, Reading, retiring in 1994 as a lineman crew chief.

Gene was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

He is also survived by a son, Michael G., husband of Angela M. (Martin) Rader of Spring Township.

Other survivors include three siblings: Fern Reynolds, Joyce E. Middleton and Lee D. Rader.

There are also three grandchildren surviving: Dustin M. Rader, Shelby N. Rader and Travis M. Rader.

He was predeceased by a sister, Kathryn Wagaman.

Services will be Thursday at 11:00 am in Immanuel United Church of Christ, 99 South Waverly Street, Shillington, PA 19607, with Rev. Megan K. Huesgen officiating. A viewing will be held from 10:00 am until time of services in the Church. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
