Gene William Perrine, 77, of Leesport, died September 21, 2009 at 1:38 a.m. in the emergency room of the Reading Hospital.
Born January 2, 1932 in Reading, he was a son of the late Stanley Harry and Virginia Helen (Gessler) Perrine.
Gene was employed as a machine operator by Berkshire Knitting Mills.
He was a member of St. Stephen's United Methodist Church, Reading.
Gene served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He enjoyed collecting radios, loved to sing and was an avid fisherman.
Surviving is a daughter, Jeannie M. (Perrine), wife of Timothy L. Zeiber of Maidencreek Township.
In addition, there is a brother, Charles C. Perrine of Maidencreek Township surviving.
Other survivors include three grandchildren, Odnel E. Trumbore, III, Keira M. Zeiber and Dauson L. Zeiber.
He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Gene was predeceased by a son, David G. Perrine in 1974 and a brother, Stanley R. Perrine in 2006.
Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Indiantown National Cemetery, Lebanon County.
