Gail T. Kauffman

Gail Theresa (Young) Kauffman, 52, of 66 Deglers Lane, Bethel, Pa 19507, died October 1st at 4:02 a.m. in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center where she had been since Saturday.

She was formerly of 25 North Front Street, Harrisburg.

Kauffman was married August 10, 1985 to Jeffrey Kenneth Kauffman, a local radio personality with 93.5 WTPA, Harrisburg and an copy editor with the Reading Eagle Company.

Born in York, Pa., she was a daughter of Donald Young of Dover, York County and the late Virginia (Sellers). She was predeceased by her step-father, Paul Gingrich and her step-mother, Dolores Young.

She was a 1968 graduate of Redland High School, Cumberland County and 1974 graduate from Penn State University.

Kauffman was employed as a social worker for eleven years at the Children & Youth Services Department for Cumberland County, last working in 1992.

She is also survived by two half-brothers, Dennis Gingrich of Halifax, Dauphin County, Douglas Young, York, Pa. and two half-sisters, Pam Gingrich of Nashville, Tenn. and Debra (Young) Neff of Dover, York County.

Other survivors include a step-brother, Jerry Gingrich and a step-sister, Judy Gingrich both of Lakeland, Florida.

She was predeceased by a half-sister, Paula (Gingrich) Rushinsky.

Memorial services will be Friday 2:00 p.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Friends may call 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Contributions may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society 2209 Quarry Drive, West Lawn, Pa 19609.
