G. June Spatz

G. June (Dickens) Spatz, 83, went to be with the Lord August 5, 2009 in St. Joseph Medical Center.

Her husband, Kenneth I. Spatz, died November 11, 2006.

Born in Bluefield, VA, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Ocie (Bolt) Dickens.

She was employed by Reading School District for 13 years in food service, retiring in 1993. Previously, she worked for Colonial Motor Lodge and Wanamaker's, Reading.

Mrs. Spatz was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church, serving on the Mission's Board and the kitchen committee for many years.

She is survived by four sons, Kenneth A., Milford, DE, Donald L., Pottstown, David W., Edison, NJ and Harold R., Reading; two daughters, Patricia A., (Spatz) Sterner, Temple and Barbara J. (Spatz) Moyer, Sinking Spring.

Mrs. Spatz is also survived by a brother, Thomas Dickens, Mineral, VA, a sister, Viola (Sue) Whitehead, Severna Park, MD and sixteen grandchildren.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Paris Dickens, Edgar Dickens and Elmo Dickens and a sister, Gladys Ganley.

Services will be Monday at 12:30 p.m. in Calvary Baptist Church, 510 Park Ave., Reading, PA 19611. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the church. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
