Freida Jean Mcdevitt

Freida Fern (Moyer) McDevitt, 90, of Wyomissing passed away peacefully on October 15. Born in Reading, Freida was fondly known to her friends and family as Sis. She was the daughter of the late Forrest and Helen (Ecks) Moyer. She was the widow of David Joseph McDevitt to whom she wed September 28, 1957. They were married for 52 years before his passing in December 2009. They had one son David Joseph McDevitt II who passed away on February 19, 1981. He was the light of Freida's life.

Freida was a woman of faith who reflected daily on her blessings. She was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, and entertaining. She loved to reminisce about her school days and her courtship with her husband David.

Freida was predeceased by her siblings Robert Moyer and Forrest Moyer, Jr. She is survived by many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Ignatius of Loyola Roman Catholic Church, 2810 Albans Drive, Sinking Spring, PA. with burial to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.
