Frederick Faller

Frederick "Freddie" Carl Faller, 84, died Monday March 22, 2010 in his Bern Township residence.

He was the husband of Helen R. (Degler) Faller, whom he married April 7, 1951.

Born October 10, 1925 in Laureldale, he was the son of the late Fred and Anna (Tiehel) Faller.

Freddie was a 1943 graduate of Ontelaunee High School.

He was employed 31 years as an operating engineer with Western Electric / AT&T, retiring in 1987.

Freddie was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War, serving on LST 572 and LST 909 in the Atlantic and Pacific.

He was a life member of the Temple Fire Company and a member of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, Leesport.

Freddie enjoyed traveling and was an avid church volunteer.

He was a loving man with a big heart.

Freddie is also survived by his five children: Rosemary H., wife of Charles S. Mowery of Kenhorst; Patricia L., wife of Peter M. Miller, of Grill; Carl F. Faller of Atlanta, GA; Captain Timothy C., husband of Sarah "Meg" (McArthur) Faller, of Norfolk, VA and Phyllis E. Wissinger, of Bern Township.

There are also five grandchildren: Matthew F., Luke S. and William H. Faller and Michael "Stash" and Jasmin R. Miller.

Services will be Friday at 11:00 am in The Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, P.O. Box 221, Leesport, PA 19533. A viewing will be held Friday from 9:30 am until time of services in the Church. Burial will be in Epler's Church Cemetery, Bern Township.
