Frederick A. Pienta

Frederick Andrew Pienta, 71, of Reading and formerly of Muhlenberg Township died of natural causes June 12th at 1:50 am in Wyomissing Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Reading, where he had been since May 29th.

He was the widower of Florence I. (Lando) Pienta, who died September 5, 2000.

Born in Reading, he was a son of Anna M. (Thomas) Pienta of Reading and the late Adam A. Pienta.

He was a 1951 graduate of Mount Penn High School and attended Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas.

Frederick was employed 35 years at IBM, Philadelphia, retiring as an Administrator June 30, 1991.

He was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park.

Frederick was a Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, where he held the rank of Airman 1st Class.

He is also survived by a sister, Elaine M. (Pienta) wife of Edward W. Koza of Lansdale, Montgomery County.

Other survivors include a nephew, Steven E. husband of Anne M. (Primus) Koza of Montgomeryville, Montgomery County and two nieces Karen A. (Koza) wife of Walter G. Pasko of Skippack, Montgomery County and Tracy L. (Lando) wife of Edward L. Millard of Blandon.

There are also seven great nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:30 am in Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, 3121 Kutztown Road, Reading, Pa 19605. Viewing 9:00 - 10:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Mausoleum, Muhlenberg Township. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the church at the above address or to American Cancer Society, 498 Bellevue Ave., Reading, Pa 19605.
