Franklin W. Wertz

Franklin Wayne Wertz Jr., 80, died January 31st at 5:52 am in his residence at 236 Madison Avenue (Muhlenberg Township) Hyde Park.

He was the husband of Mildred (Bohr) Wertz.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Franklin W. Sr., and Emily Agnes (Marks) Wertz.

He worked 37 years as a crane operator at Dana Corporation, Reading before retiring in 1979.

Wertz was a member of Grace Alsace United Church of Christ, Hyde Park.

He was a Navy Veteran of WWII.

Wertz was a 1942 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.

He was a life member of Goodwill (Hyde Park) Fire Company.

Wertz is also survived by a son, Woodrow W. husband of Joanne (Lendacki) Wertz of Cape May, New Jersey.

Other survivors include a daughter, Susan J. (Wertz) Graeff-Dobisesky wife of Ronald L. Dobisesky of Muhlenberg Township.

There are also four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday at 1:00 pm in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Viewing will be noon until time of service. Burial will be in Alsace Cemetery, Hyde Park.
