Franklin W. Maxwell, 86, of West Lawn, passed away July 1, 2021, at the Mifflin Center.

His wife, Dorothy V. (Wilczynski) Maxwell, died on December 8, 2017.

Born in Bolckow, MO, he was a son of the late Carl W. and Leona M. (Foreman) Maxwell.

Franklin served our nation proudly and valiantly in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict.

He was employed by Hofmann Industries as a reamer for 32 years, retiring on July 16, 1999.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Franklin is survived by two children, Bradley W. (Patty) Maxwell and Nancy Dierolf, fiancée of Harvey Bitler, all of Reading and eight grandchildren: Rebecca (Matt), David (Marci), Brandon, fiancé of Autumn, Amanda, Mason, Codey, Josslyn and Finley.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Ray Maxwell and Carl Maxwell.

Services will be held Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at 12 p.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading with Burial and Military Honors to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at www.kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
