Frank Young, 89, of Mohnton, formerly of Narberth, PA, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Anita (Giuliani), with whom he celebrated 65 years of marriage.
He graduated from St. Joseph's Preparatory School of Philadelphia and completed his Bachelor of Engineering Degree at Villanova. He began his professional career as an electrical engineer with General Electric. The many projects he supervised included installation of a steel mill in Taranto, Italy, and troubleshooting at a sugarcane refinery in the Dominican Republic. Frank then worked at Lukens Steel in Coatesville for many years before accepting the Plant Manager position at Griffin Pipe in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He also worked at New Jersey Steel in Sayreville and City Steel in Delaware.
While attending Villanova he was a Midshipman in the NROTC and was stationed on the battleship USS Missouri and also a destroyer.
Frank was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His generous nature and good sense of humor made him a much-loved patriarch. He was well traveled both domestically and abroad and often took his family on trips.
Left to treasure Frank's memory is his wife, Anita; their children: David Young (Donna) of New Hope; Anita Boseck (Carl Weidman) of Mohnton; Bonnie Foltz (Byron) of Lewistown; and Eric Young (Wendy) of Beach Haven, NJ; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Frank was predeceased by his son, 1st Lt. Frank A. Young, USMC.
In lieu of flowers, Frank's family asks that you do something meaningful with your loved ones in his honor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at St. Margaret's Church, in Narberth. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in West Conshohocken.
