Frank Schera

Frank Schera, 88, formerly of Amherst Court, Spring Township, died Dec. 19 at 11:35 p.m. in ManorCare Health Services Inc., Spring Township, where he had been a resident since Sept. 17.

His wife, Josephine G. (Giardiello) Schera, died July 20, 1982.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Jerome and Sebastiana (Beningo) Schera.

Schera had been employed for seven years as a security guard by several area companies. He had previously worked for more than 23 years as an operator at Textile Machine Works, and later Rockwell International, retiring in 1972.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.

Schera was an Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by a daughter, Donna M. Schera, Lincoln Park; and a son, Jerome F., Lebanon.

There are also two grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
