Frank R. Sands

Frank R. "Terry" Sands, 90, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away January 2, 2024, at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center.

He was the widower of Eleanor M. (Hummel) Sands.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Theodore Sands and Sandra Bitto.

He was a 1951 graduate of West Reading High School.

Terry served our nation proudly and valiantly in the US Air Force.

He was employed by Rockwell International as a machine operator for many years before retiring in 1999.

Terry found great pleasure in challenging his lock-picking skills at the casinos. Additionally, he derived immense satisfaction from tending to his vegetable garden under the open sky, and relished the simple pleasure of making and sipping sun tea while occasionally indulging in a glass of exquisite red wine.

He is survived by two daughters, Sandra J. Sands, Muhlenberg Township, and Terrina L., wife of Jason Hnot, Exeter Township; two grandchildren, Taylor A. Schinski, Leesport, and Madison R. Perrotto, Exeter Township; and his beloved cats, Simba and Tiger.

A Celebration of Life Services will be held Thursday, January 11, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A viewing will be Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
